Torque of the North - December 2023

Austin Healey Club Northern Centre's Newsletter

Hi ,
News from around the North

AGM
Cracking turnout for the AGM with over 30 members attending (zoom and in person).  Aside from the locals, it was great to see North Wales, Yorkshire and Cumbrian members, join in with the running of the club.  With new committee duly elected for another year, we thanked John and Jen Stanger Leathes for their outstanding work in the Northeast, I know that they will continue to be very active in the Club and will be staunch supporters of Murray Shand, who was elected to the Committee as the Northeast Rep.  Murray is already very active in the area and with HealeySport so we know that he will be a great asset.  If you want more details from the AGM, please ask Secretary John Zuback for a copy of the minutes.

NEC Car Show
Plenty of you made it to the NEC Classic Car show & it was great to catch up with so many old faces.  I managed to get away cheaply with only a few minor purchases but for me, the 45 mins chatting to the owner of this newly restored A90, below, was the standout part of the show.
The line up of cars on the Austin Healey stand was impressive - certainly one of the best club stands at the show, It’s great to see the Healey Club back into the NEC!

Tool Box

New Tool added to the Northern Centre Toolbox, courtesy of Andy Anderson (Doug has used it already). Go to Northern Centre website for full details of all the tools available.  https://www.ahc-northern.org.uk/tools.php   We also have access to the Thames Valley Centre tool hire and they are just about to add a flatbed trailer to their toolbox (must be a big box).

Still places available but you will have to be quick. See October Revcounter for details.  Contact Paul Johnston:  vicechairman@ahc-northern.org.uk Mob: 07785 790710
