Torque of the North - January 2022

Austin Healey Club Northern Centre's Newsletter

Welcome to January’s newsletter and a HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone.

With Covid in the headlines again, clearly things haven’t started well for 2022, with some of our post-Christmas gatherings being disrupted.  However, WhatsApp has been humming with Santa’s Healey gifts and there is more news of events in July and August to start putting in your new diary for 2022.

News from around the North
I’ve picked off a few of Santa’s best from the Whatsapp groups, From Doug’s shiney new red (stretch) cover for his Healey to my own pottery Mk2 (the figure looks vaguely like me!).  Glen Ackroyd showed off his tinplate (I think) Healey, whilst Mike Robinson offered up his illustrated history of his BN2.
Events have been fairy sparse for members in Cumbria, then two have come along all at once.  The first, with a provisional date of Sunday 17th July is “The Car's the star” at Holker Hall, nearby to Cartmel.  Holker Hall is a superb venue, set in parkland next to the Hall itself. On Sunday 7th August is “Classics over Sands”, on the southern tip of Cumbria, in Grange-over-Sands, overlooking Morecambe Bay.  Both venues will open booking in early 2022.
