Post Christmas Lunch - Plough & Flail            January 8th  2012.

After the usual over-indulgences at Christmas, it was time to go the extra mile and participate in one more extravagance of food and wine at the AHCN "Post" Christmas Lunch at the Plough and Flail near Wilmslow.  The unreliable weather meant that not many Healeys ventured out for the first event of the year however, full marks go to Robert Thornburrow for leading the way in his Mk1 Sprite. I hope that the rain held off long enough for him to make it home in the dry.

The Plough and Flail did us proud with a fabulous Lunch which didn't feature a single Sprout or Turkey Breast although, like most households at this time of year, they did require some help to polish off the last of the Christmas Pies.

The obligatory Chairman's speech was magnificently short whilst the award of "Dipstick of the Year" to Ivor Davis for his double 23km inadvertent diversion through a tunnel was suitably amusing and well deserved.  With an exhaust note like Ivor's, I'm not so sure the diversion was accidental!  This year's award was enhanced with the presentation by Dave Haslam of a life like model of said tunnel and car.

Excellent turn out for a great start to the year.  Thanks to Ivor for organising the first event of 2012 and I hope we get to see many more of the members throughout the year.

HAVE A HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS 2012
