Fourteen Austin Healeys lined up outside the Fat Lamb.

Ken Broster organised yet another successful Northern Centre outing starting from The Tickled Trout near Preston. Thirteen big Healeys and one Frogeye turned out on a chilly October morning and headed for the open countryside of the Lancashire moors to Slaidburn. Through Gisburn Forest and Clapham Common to Ingleton. The route then headed past Dentdale station where some of us saw the steam train heading along the Carlisle to Settle railway, past the ruins of Pendragon Castle until we arrived at the Fat Lamb near Ravensdale. The weather was relatively kind to us considering the incessant rain we seem to have been experiencing of late.
Mine host at the Fat Lamb, Paul Bonsall, is a BJ8 owner and a member of the club. The hotel had an excellent selection of food and two couples decided to make a weekend of it and stay overnight. Paul is keen to be involved in the forming of a Cumbrian sub-centre, maybe using the Fat Lamb as the base. Anyone interested can contact Paul through the Fat Lamb website. www.fatlamb.co.uk
