Footman James Manchester Classic Car Show - Event City - 20/21 September 2014

A very smart collection of Healeys at The Footman James Manchester Classic Car Show

The one event in the Northern Centre calendar that the weather can't spoil, and typically it was a nice dry weekend! The club managed to put together a good selection of cars from the Healey range, all looking suitably clean and especially shiny under the artificial lights. The stand clearly made an impact as we were prominently featured in Classic Car Weekly, who said "The Austin-Healey Club's 10-car stand was one of the biggest draws at this year's show".

This is only the second Footman James show that has been run in recent years and it certainly managed to put a wide range of cars on display. Footfall seemed to be up a little from last year, and there was certainly quite a buzz on Sunday morning.

It was nice to see Mike Stonier's car on display which previously achieved the Best in Show accolade shortly after its restoration was completed many moons ago at the Footman James show when it was held at G-MEX.

The project car in the centre of the stand, whilst not quite so shiny, attracted a fair bit of attention. The only problem (for the owner anyway) was that quite a lot of peopled wanted to see it back again next year to see what progress has been made.

All in all, a nice show, and a very pleasant way to spend the weekend.
